Firefighters in Roselle, supported by mutual aid crews from across Union County, battled a raging four-alarm fire Monday evening that tore through several homes.

The blaze erupted around 5:00 p.m. near East 9th Avenue and White Street, quickly spreading and damaging three houses before being brought under control.

Officials said there were no fatalities. One firefighter was hospitalized for smoke inhalation and is expected to recover.

More than two dozen residents were displaced, and borough officials are coordinating temporary housing and support services.

In total, approximately 26 community members have been forced from their homes as a result of the devastating multi-house fire.
