CNN’s Manu Raju warned that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer ‘s (D-N.Y.) political future could be in jeopardy as he continues to face intense backlash from his own party.

Raju reported on Sunday that Democrats believe Schumer’s days as minority leader are “numbered” after eight members of his caucus sided with Republicans to reopen the government last week. The shocking reversal from the group of Democrats came after party leadership vowed to oppose any spending bill that did not include an extension for Affordable Care Act subsidies expiring at the end of the year.
