Christmas is fast approaching and there's no way you can avoid it. From festive adverts to huge boxes of choccies being sold in the shops, and hardly being able to move down Market Street thanks to the Christmas market stalls, December 25 is only 37 days away. So, why not just succumb to the hype and put your decorations up as well?

Even though Grinch-like people may protest, I think it's actually the best time to put your tree up. I have a good reason as to why I've done so early, but I'd urge others to consider decking the halls too.

I've decided to do it extra early this year is that my birthday is six days before Christmas, and my partner's is three days after mine, so we often don't spend the build-up to Christmas in our own home.
