Temperatures have suddenly plummeted across the UK, bringing the coldest temperatures we have seen since March - but the Met Office warns it is going to get even colder.

Several severe weather warnings for ice and snow are in place across the UK over the next few days, to be lifted on Thursday night (November 20).

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has also issued amber and yellow cold weather alerts for the whole of England, coming to an end on Friday morning (November 21).

The coldest time of the week is expected to be on Thursday night, when parts of the UK could reach a freezing -10C. Greater Manchester is set to go as low as -3C at its coldest time, but could feel as cold as -7C. View 4 Images
