PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — A tractor trailer crashed into an overpass on John Hanson Highway overnight on Tuesday. The crash caused all lanes to shutdown on I-95/495 inner loop past exit 19 US-50. By 10 a.m., all lanes had reopened to traffic, but some delays remain.
According to Maryland State Highway Administration Deputy Director Charlie Gischiar, at around 3:30 a.m., a tractor trailer struck scaffolding that was set under Dr. Martin Luther King Highway (MD-704) over the inner loop of I-95/495 heading southbound.
Around 5:30 a.m., traffic was getting by using one right lane. According to authorities, extended closure was expected through the morning rush hour. All lanes were reopened by 10 a.m., according to Maryland traffic officials.
