Princess Beatrice has opened up about the ‘lonely’ experience of giving birth prematurely in a candid conversation for one of her most treasured charities. The royal, who welcomed her second daughter, Athena Elizabeth Rose, several weeks early in January, discussed her experiences of motherhood on a podcast by Borne, a charity dedicated to researching prematurity, for which she serves as patron.
‘I think so often, especially as mums, we spend our lives feeling we have to be perfect,' Princess Beatrice said in the special edition podcast. ‘When you are faced with that moment of learning your baby's going to come a bit early, it can be incredibly lonely.
