This should have been an easy fight to win. The Legault government was aiming to do something that no previous government of Quebec had been able to achieve: changing doctors’ remuneration regime in order to tie it to their performance. The powerful MDs’ unions would huff, puff and blow. But in the end, doctors being seen as spoiled prima donnas, the public would side with the government.
