An 18-year-old skateboarder was arrested after ignoring a Lakewood police officer’s instructions to move away from a construction zone before spitting on the officer, authorities said.
Shmaya Schreiber was riding through an active lane shift when a detective helping to direct traffic asked him to move off the road, Lakewood police said.
Schreiber repeatedly ignored the commands and then became confrontational when the detective tried to stop him to issue a summons, officials said.
The Lakewood resident then spit in the detective’s face and physically resisted arrest.
Police charged Schreiber with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, possession of false government documents and unlawful possession of a weapon.
