A number of key witnesses for the prosecution in the Karen Read murder trial are apparently considering formal legal action against the defendant in the high profile and controversial case, according to Boston.com.

Read was charged with murder in the death of her boyfriend, Boston police officer John O'Keefe. She was acquitted of the serious charges against her, and only found guilty of a drunken driving charge.
