Get ready, Caniacs! The first Raising Cane's restaurant in West Michigan is set to open Tuesday morning, with hundreds of fans already waiting outside.

Raising Cane's is a nationwide chain known for its chicken fingers. Each chicken-finger meal comes with fries, coleslaw and Texas toast. You can also get your chicken in sandwich form or as a kids' meal.

In a November 2024 meeting, the City of Kentwood Planning Commission met and approved a plan for Raising Cane's to put a drive-thru establishment at 3650 28th Street SE.

The location used to be an Outback Steakhouse , which was one of 41 Outbacks the company closed in February 2024. The company closed the restaurants because they were involved in older leases. They also considered factors like sales, traffic and futu
