Manitoba hunters now have a new way to keep track of Chronic Wasting Disease in the province with the launch of an online dashboard aimed at helping contain the spread of the fatal illness in deer and other wildlife.
Natural Resources and Indigenous Futures Minister Ian Bushie announced the tool Monday, calling it a practical resource for hunters heading into the season.

“The CWD Dashboard is a first of its kind in Canada,” Bushie said. “This tool, along with hunters submitting samples for testing, will help monitor and manage CWD in our province.”
The dashboard shows real-time test results, maps of confirmed cases, and directions to the closest sample drop-off depot. Users can filter information by species or hunting season to see what’s happening in their area.
