The air quality in Greater Noida on Tuesday witnessed a huge dip with AQI readings falling in the ‘severe’ category. At 454, with PM10 as the primary pollutant, the city recorded the poorest air in the country, according to the data of Central Pollution Control Board.
At 4 pm, a day earlier, the Air Quality Index (AQI) for Greater Noida stood at 390, in the deep end of the ‘very poor’ category, which spiked by 60 points in a single day.

As per CPCB’s classification, an AQI between 400 and 500 is considered ‘severe’, posing health risks even to healthy individuals and causing serious respiratory issues among those with pre-existing conditions.
