DFW broke the record high for this date just after the noon hour. The old record was 83°, in 1973. We ended up at 87° for a high, easily beating the record.
Clouds started building up Tuesday afternoon. There are small rain chances across the evening, but we put it at only 10%. The last rain at DFW happened on Nov. 1.
The highest risk of severe weather, which is low, is on Wednesday afternoon in our western counties. This risk goes into the early evening and spreads across North Texas. Damaging winds and lightning are the main threats with these storms.
We are expecting our first wave of heavy rain late on Wednesday. This would be the first significant rain since Oct. 25. That means the initial rain will mix with the oil build-up on the roads, making for some very slippery conditions.
