A Bergen County woman who worked as a clerk for Ho-Ho-Kus claims in a lawsuit the police chief screamed at her while armed with his service weapon in an office with the door shut, which caused her to fear for her safety.
Diane Cebulski, of Midland Park, claims in court papers she was terminated after reporting the chief and others for what she believed were reasonable violations of state law.
Ho-Ho-Kus officials did not respond to requests for comment on the lawsuit, which was filed Nov. 14 in Superior Court of Bergen County.
According to the complaint, Cebulski was hired in 2021 to work full time with flexible hours as a police department clerk. Her duties included covering for workers in borough hall during their lunch breaks.
But other workers soon became envious of Cebulski’s work
