WATERFORD, CT (WFSB) - Electric Boat has now acquired the entirety of the Crystal Mall property in Waterford.

It announced on Tuesday that it closed on the acquisition of the former Sears property.

The property acquisitions began in June with the former Macy’s location. The rest of the mall was purchased in October .

The old Sears location was the last remaining piece.

The submarine maker said the location will be used to “maximize the construction utility of Electric Boat’s Groton shipyard by moving off-hull functions to Waterford.”
