EUCLID, Ohio (WOIO) - One week after a dangerous carjacking, long-time activist Art McKoy is still thankful to the police department’s response that led to an arrest.
“If they do bad, I have to protest against them,” the founder of Black on Black Crime Inc. said. “But this is a day of rejoicing, the Euclid Police Department has done good.”
McKoy shared his experience with both 19 News and his digital audience through a live stream.
“After fighting for 50 years tying to save young Black men and others, is this the way I’m going to die?” he asked.
The activist was in the parking lot of the Vista Apartments on Lakeshore Boulevard last Monday while visiting a friend.
Suddenly, a man ran up to McKoy and threatened him with a firearm, looking to take his 2023 Nissan Altima.
