Learner drivers have been urged to ensure they are aware of the need to know updated materials before sitting their theory examination. The fresh warning comes from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), which has confirmed significant changes are on the horizon for learners . ‌

In a statement published on the official gov.uk website, the DVSA revealed that from 2026, theory examinations will feature new CPR questions. For the first time ever, candidates will face queries about defibrillators aimed at improving cardiac arrest survival rates. ‌

The agency stated: "Driving theory tests will include enhanced first aid questions from 2026, building on existing first aid content that has been part of driver education for years ." ‌
