MADISON, Wis. — A 35-year-old man was arrested Monday evening in connection with a deadly shooting on Madison's north side, authorities said.

The Madison Police Department announced Tuesday at 10:08 a.m. that they arrested the person of interest after interviewing witnesses and examining digital evidence. He was apprehended near the Dane County Regional Airport during a high-risk traffic stop.

Police were dispatched to the 2400 block of Brentwood Parkway near Marina Park at around 2:45 p.m. Monday, where they found a man lying in the road suffering from a gunshot wound. He later died at the hospital.

The suspect is currently held at the Dane County Jail on a Department of Corrections probation/parole violation.
