President Donald Trump’s proposal for 50-year mortgages to make housing more affordable has raised eyebrows among industry observers, but a new poll shows the idea could gain traction among America’s younger prospective homeowners.
According to a recent survey of 1,000 Americans by the financial resource website BadCredit.org , 45 percent of Americans say they would consider a 50-year mortgage if this became an option.
Among age groups, Millennials were the most supportive at 54 percent, followed by Gen Z at 46. By comparison, only 29 percent of Boomers and 37 percent of Gen X were in favor.
