Erie's immigrant liaison is resigning. New mayor may not fill spot

Saeedullah Taraky, the city of Erie’s liaison to immigrants , refugees and new Americans, is leaving Mayor Joe Schember’s administration.

Taraky, who commonly goes by the first name Saeed, submitted a letter of resignation to Schember on Nov. 5. In that letter, which Taraky shared publicly on social media, he wrote that he is resigning as of Nov. 30.
