The American Hockey League announced Monday that Coachella Valley Firebirds forward Jagger Firkus was named the AHL's Player of the Week.
Good choice. The 21-year-old Firkus had an amazing three-game stretch, racking up four goals and three assists for the Firebirds including his first career hat trick Saturday against Bakersfield.
With another goal in Sunday's win over Abbotsford, Firkus extended his point streak to six straight games and has totaled 11 points during that span (5 goals, 6 assists). Firkus is currently tied for the league lead in scoring with 18 points in 14 games.
