Police are investigating after threats were allegedly made toward a nursing center in Torrington on Tuesday morning, sending the facility as well as multiple daycares and schools in the area into lockdown.

Police were contacted around 9 a.m. on the report of an individual allegedly making threats toward the staff and the facility at the Torrington Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, according to the Torrington Police Department .

Police said the facility was put into lockdown based on the “types of threats” and the “mention of a firearm.” They did not elaborate on the nature of the threats but said there was allegedly an allusion to “multiple injuries” pending, according to police.
