Adi Viveash will remain in charge for Boro's trip to Oxford United this weekend - and could even take the team for next Tuesday's clash with Coventry City.
That's according to the Northern Echo who also report the interim boss is set to stay at The Riverside beyond the appointment of Rob Edwards' successor.
Boro are putting the final touches to the deal to bring Kim Hellberg to the club, despite Hammarby's attempts to keep their manager.
Their sporting director Mikael Hjelmberg has confirmed they have held talks with the Swede but admits they are unable to compete with Boro's terms.
Hellberg is expected to be joined by his current assistant David Selini but it is reported Viveash will also be part of the new set-up.
