Two men have died following a shooting Sunday at a home in unincorporated Gilroy, according to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office.
Just before 3:30 p.m., deputies responded to reports of a shooting at a home on Sheldon Avenue.
When they arrived, witnesses reported that a 68-year-old man had been shot by a family member who then barricaded himself inside the garage, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies entered the home and discovered that a victim had been fatally shot. He was pronounced dead just after 4:15 p.m., the sheriff’s office said.
Additional resources, including an armored vehicle, a drone, the Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team, the Psychiatric Emergency Response Team, and the Crisis Negotiation Team were mobilized.
