As Anze Kopitar ’s farewell tour continues throughout this season, the LA Kings captain made sure to make an extra special stop.
After Monday’s 2-1 loss to the Washington Capitals at Capital One Arena, Kopitar met up with Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin to exchange signed jerseys.
Both Kopitar and Ovechkin scored in the game .
Ovechkin is the NHL’s all-time leading scorer, passing the great Wayne Gretzky at the end of last season, and – after Monday’s tally – now sits at 903 career goals.
Capitals forward Tom Wilson and defenseman John Carlson met up with Kopitar as well after the game.
Kopitar announced in September that he will retire at the end of the season .
