Sarsanghchalak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Dr. Mohan Bhagwat clarified the organization's views on the subject of Hindu Rashtra. During an event in Guwahati on Tuesday, Bhagwat said, "India and Hindus are one. There is no need to declare India a Hindu nation, its civilization already expresses it."

"Whoever is proud of India is a Hindu. Hindu is not just a religious term but a civilization identity, connected to thousands of years of cultural tradition", he added.

The RSS chief arrived in Guwahati, the capital of Assam, on Monday for a three-day visit. Tomorrow, Wednesday, Bhagwat will address a youth conference. After this, he will leave for Manipur on November 20.
