The central government on Tuesday warned private TV channels to avoid telecasting sensitive and inflammatory content related to the recent Delhi blast case. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting issued an advisory to all private satellite channels, stating- some telecasts showed the accused in a manner that seemed to justify violence.
The ministry stated in the note that some channels telecast videos or information that could be seen as methods for making explosive materials. Which could inadvertently incite violence, affect public order, and endanger national security.
The ministry reminded broadcasters of their responsibility to adhere to the Programs and Advertising Code under the Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act, 1995. Channels have been advised to refrain from broad
