The meeting raised concerns over the Eighth Pay Commission’s terms of reference and provisions of the Finance Bill 2025, which, according to them, have created serious apprehensions among pensioners across India.

Forum’s President and former EJAC Chief said that the government appears to be restricting the fundamental rights of pensioners.

He said that the convention reminded authorities of the Supreme Court’s judgment in the DS Nakara case, which declared that pension is not a charity but a fundamental post-retirement right.
