Several people were reportedly detained in St. Paul on Tuesday morning as U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) carried out an operation at a manufacturing plant.

The operation unfolded at 830 N. Hampden Ave. at Bro-Tex, which makes and distributes wipes, towels and other absorbent products used for cleaning.

Protestors gathered at the scene and some clashed with federal agents, with some witnesses reporting agents used several vans to take detainees from the scene and deployed an irritant to push back crowds.

St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter and Ward 4 Councilmember Molly Coleman are among the local officials at the scene Tuesday morning.
