RALSTON, Neb. (WOWT) - Back in July, we first told you about the brand new Kid Governor program in Nebraska.

The results are now in — the state’s fifth graders have elected Charlie Couch from Meadows Elementary School in Ralston to the position.

Civic Nebraska brought the program to our state this year. Each student who wanted to be Kid Governor had to run on a platform , and Charlie’s platform was cancer awareness.

First Alert 6 is told the runners-up will serve on her cabinet for a full year.
