Manatee County Sheriff’s Office detectives with the Crimes Against Children Unit have arrested a Bayshore High School assistant football coach on charges of soliciting sexual contact with a student.

On Monday, Nov. 17, the parent of a 16-year-old student reported that Lagarius Spikes, 42, made sexually explicit comments to the juvenile victim while in his office at Bayshore High Schoo l, 5401 34th St. W., and solicited sex. Spikes later sent the victim additional explicit text messages.
