Football finance expert Stefan Borson estimates that a release clause for Morgan Rogers could be worth more than £120m if Aston Villa inserted one into his deal.

Rogers has just penned a new contract at Villa that will run until 2031 and is a reward for a s tring of sensational performances that looks set to take him to the World Cup with England.

Villa paid Middlesbrough just £8m to sign the impressive playmaker although that fee could rise due to add-ons that were inserted into the deal.

In terms of business, Villa have got major bang for their buck and the hope is now he can help them deliver on their Premier League ambitions.

However, his form has naturally attracted speculation that the likes of Liverpool are monitoring him closely.
