MISSOURI (KFVS) - Some small businesses and nonprofits in the Heartland affected by drought may apply for low-interest federal disaster loans.

The U.S. Small Business Administration is offering the loans for those affected by drought starting September 16.

The SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loan is available to small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, nurseries and PNPs, including faith-based organizations.

They stated they are unable to provide disaster loans to agricultural producers, farmers or ranchers, except for small aquaculture enterprises.

EIDL will cover several counties through Missouri, Arkansas, Illinois and Tennessee.
