BENTONVILLE — Two people are in jail after being accused of murder in the killing of Kevin Nikel, a local professional wrestler, earlier this year.
The U.S. Marshals Service arrested Michael Hogue and Amanda Penny on Monday on charges of murder in the first degree and possession of firearm by certain persons, according to a news release from the Benton County Sheriff’s Office. Prosecutors have not filed any formal charges against the pair.
Hogue, 51, and Penny, 40, both of Rogers, were being held Tuesday in the Benton County Jail with no bond set.
Benton County sheriff's detectives started investigating Nikel's death on July 11 after responding to a report of a male suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen in the area of Arkansas 12, east of Rogers, according to the release.
