The Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr. has been moved out of the intensive care unit, according to a report.

“We believe in the power of prayer, and we are grateful for the overwhelming outreach and prayers of the faithful,” Jackson’s son, Yusef Jackson, said in a news release reported in the Chicago Sun-Times. “Our father is alert and continues to share his vision for churches and pastors to come together and reduce malnutrition during this period.”

On Nov. 17, the family released a statement which said Jackson "remains in stable condition and will remain at Northwestern Memorial Hospital for care" and confirmed that he would be moved out of the ICU later that day.
