ASHEVILLE - Alongside building a Costco, the property proposed for redevelopment at Enka Commerce Park will be used for a medical office building and a sit-down restaurant even as traffic remains a concern for the new development at the master-planned industrial park near Biltmore Lake.
Long-rumored for the site at Enka Commerce Park, the wholesale company officially proposed building a 160,000 square-foot Costco at 264 Enka Heritage Parkway in September . The proposal includes a 32-pump fueling station and a tire center. The project will seek a conditional zoning request for approval, meaning the proposal will need to be heard by the city's Planning and Zoning Commission and approved by City Council. It would be Western North Carolina's first Costco.
