The University of Houston’s Pi Kappa Phi chapter was shuttered following an investigation into hazing allegations, according to the university.
The university was informed by the national headquarters for the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity that the local chapter would be closed after an investigation revealed the chapter violated Pi Kappa Phi’s risk management and conduct policies, UH said in a news release. The university said a non-UH student was hospitalized on Nov. 3 following alleged hazing activities. Three days later, the fraternity chapter was placed on suspension by the national organization.
