CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry (LMM) celebrated the opening of solar powered homes Monday morning.

The homes were built in the St. Clair Superior neighborhood and this pilot brings clean energy and affordable housing to support residents moving out of homelessness.

LMM hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony and honored those who were played integral roles in the success of the project as it continues to provide solutions to end homelessness.

According to the Cuyahoga County Government Facebook page, each unit produces the same amount of energy it uses, lowering utility costs and creating stability.

That translates into minimal environmental impact and significant long-term savings for residents, according to a release by LMM.
