OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Douglas County Commissioners wrapped up its regular meeting under irregular circumstances after the power at the city-county building went out Tuesday morning.

Back-up generators did help with emergency lights and elevators, and the board was able to continue its meeting in the mostly dark space. There also were able to hold an executive session in their normal room as it has windows.

The courthouse side of the complex was mostly not affected due to a separate power line. Areas that were affected did have generators, so some computers continued to work, but some did not.

First Alert 6 was told power was restored around noon. OPPD said the outage was caused by an excavator coming in contact with an underground power line.
