The owner of the Olde Angel Inn in Niagara-on-the-Lake has applied to the town to make its popular temporary patio a permanent fixture downtown.

During a Nov. 17 virtual open house, Lichheng Lim, a senior planner for NPG, said the proposal is to rezone 226 Regent St. to allow for the 247-square-metre permanent outdoor patio, along with two existing cottage rental units — the Swayze Cottage and Court Cottage.

If approved, the application would rezone 224 Regent St. for site specific provisions for lot frontage and rear yard setback, and also rezone 42 Market St. to recognize the existing two-storey frame house, which is used for storage and kitchen functions.
