WINCHESTER, Ky. (WKYT) - A man has been charged in connection with a hit-and-run crash that killed a bicyclist on Monday.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office says 48-year-old John McQueen was heading east on Rockwell road on his way home from work, when he was struck from behind.

According to the sheriff’s office, the driver stopped briefly but left without checking on the bicyclist or calling for help.

Deputies were alerted to the crash scene by passing drivers and the Clark County Coroner pronounced McQueen dead at the scene.

According to the sheriff’s office, the driver of the vehicle involved, 54-year-old Joseph Shrader was found at his home on Tuesday and charged with driving without a license, driving without registration and leaving the scene of an accident.
