The Republican-controlled US House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly on Tuesday to compel the release of Justice Department files on the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, ending months of internal party conflict and reversing President Donald Trump’s long-standing opposition to disclosure.

The resolution passed 427–1, with the only "no" vote coming from Representative Clay Higgins, a Louisiana Republican and Trump supporter, just two days after the president abruptly dropped his resistance.

The measure now goes to the Senate, though it remains unclear when or whether the chamber will act. The clash over the files opened a rare rift inside Trump’s circle, pulling even loyalists like Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene into open conflict with him.
