[LINN COUNTY, Iowa] — After more than two days of deliberations, a Linn County jury has reached a verdict in the case against Luke Truesdell, who was charged with murdering four people.
The deliberation period took longer than expected, despite prosecutors initially believing the case was straightforward.
Monica Slaughter, Linn County Assistant Attorney, explained, “With any murder investigation, there are going to be questions that we wish we had answers to, but when you look at the totality of the evidence that was presented, we believed from the very beginning that this was an open and shut clear-cut case.”
The jury found Truesdell guilty of three counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of Amanda Parker, Keonna Ryan, and Brent Brown. He was also convicted of one count of second-
