TikTok star Girlalala was shot and killed over the weekend, with rapper JT stepping in to help cover the longtime fan and friend's funeral expenses.

According to a statement from the Broward Sheriff's Office in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Girlalala, 21, was allegedly shot and killed by her boyfriend, 25-year-old Shanoyd Whyte Jr., after a "verbal argument which turned physical" in Whyte's car. Whyte allegedly shot Girlalala, who was in the front passenger seat, while she was sitting in the car.

Whyte is currently in the Broward County jail on a first-degree murder with a firearm charge.

Girlalala was a big supporter of JT as part of the former City Girls rapper's "Juvies" fan base, and often rapped over her songs on TikTok, which boasts over 289,000 followers.

After news of her death was revealed, the rapper took to social media to speak out against jokes about domestic violence, especially in the trans community, given Girlalala was transgender.

"NOTHING is funny about a (domestic) violence story," she wrote on a since-expired Instagram story. The rapper wrote that society doesn't take the issue of domestic violence within the LGTBQ+ community "serious," but "(to be honest), I see Black cis women telling their story for laughs too and we tune in like it's a reality show… ITS NOT!"

"My heart is broken & these kids or adults may never be protected in a time where everything is moving fast & used as content!" she continued. "If you see something say something ! R.I.P GIRLLALA."

JT has been among the supporters for a GoFundMe launched to cover the social media star's funeral expenses. The fund has raised nearly $30,000 in donations so far.
