BEREA, Ky. (WKYT) - A decades-old flower shop in Berea is using its blooms to spread kindness through a program that gives away free flowers to brighten people’s days.
Foley’s Florist , located at 592 Chestnut Street, has been a staple in the area for 50 years. Current owner Shelley Lakes Wolfe runs the shop with her daughter and has developed the Petals and Perks program as a way to give back to the community.
“Everybody likes to get a flower, its unexpected,” said owner Shelley Lakes Wolfe.
How the program works
The kindness initiative starts with a random name selected a few times a week that goes up on a board outside Foley’s. Anyone with that name can stop in for a free flower.
