AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Pantex donated over 600 frozen turkeys to the High Plains Food Bank Tuesday to support families facing food insecurity this holiday season.

A news release states Pantex purchased a frozen turkey for each employee to show their appreciation.

Pantex then arranged for all unclaimed turkeys to be donated directly to the food bank.

“It was so exciting to see good news like this come through after everything that has happened over the past month and a half and really over the year. Excited that we’ll be able to get these turkeys out literally this week,” said Zack Wilson, executive director of the High Plains Food Bank.

Organizers say the donated turkeys will be distributed through the High Plains Food Bank’s network of 139 partner agencies and programs.
