A Lake County family is asking the community for prayers and support as a 6-year-old boy continues to fight for his life following the Nov. 15 crash that killed two teens on Hwy 33 in Groveland.

According to a GoFundMe post, 6-year-old Nickai suffered life-changing injuries in the wreck, including a partially shattered spine and internal bleeding that required emergency surgery. He is now being treated at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando, where doctors have told the family he has only a 50 percent chance of walking again.

The crash, which claimed the lives of two local teens, has left two families grieving and another holding on to hope as the young boy undergoes round-the-clock care.
