SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - The city of South Bend hosts a ribbon cutting that celebrates the completion of the Mishawaka Avenue Streetscape project.
We previously told you about this project when it started back in May.
The project aims to improve pedestrian infrastructure and calm traffic along Mishawaka Avenue.
Officials say it’s great for the growing neighborhood and its businesses. It represents the city’s commitment to safety.
The improvements include new curbs and sidewalks, new lighting, landscaping and street resurfacing.
“Better for the neighborhood with the kids that walk by or ride their bikes to the market or to the store or down this way with all the other businesses all in all it’s good. It looks great. It’s gonna be better long term than what it was. Absolutely,” said
