JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. — A cyclist is in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle Tuesday morning in James City County.
James City County police said they were called to the intersection of Monticello Avenue and Casey Boulevard around 6 a.m. Tuesday after receiving reports of a cyclist hit.
The cyclist, a 62-year-old man from James City County, received emergency medical aid before being airlifted to Richmond for further treatment. Police said he remains in critical condition.
James City County police's Crash Team investigated the incident, and preliminary findings determined that the cyclist was riding an e-bike on Ironbound Road when he entered the intersection against a steady red signal.
