GUILFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - Town leaders in Guilford are warning residents of a scam going around.
Officials said scammers are sending emails pretending to be with the planning and zoning department and asking applicants to send fees for an application to be approved.
Officials want you to remember the following:
The town will never ask for wire transfer payments.
All application fees are invoiced through an online permitting system.
If you get a suspicious email, get in touch with town officials to report it.
No further details were released.
